Threading

Threading is a process  for removing all the peach fuzz from your face. These tiny hairs are formally known as vellus hairs. Threading removes the entire hair from the roots.

How it works

Cotton thread is twisted and held tight, the thread picks up and traps several hairs at a time, pulling the hair straight out of the follicle.

Pros

It is a great alternative to waxing for those who are sensitive to waxing.  Your skin is left soft, smooth, and dewy, results last up to 4 weeks and is a more natural result then waxing or derma-planing, hair grows back softer, and stronger hairs are pulled out of the skin.

Cons

Threading is a manual form of exfoliation, you might experience some mild redness or irritation, the hair is being removed by the roots this can be uncomfortable. The most tiniest hairs are left on the face.

Derma-planing

How it works

Similar to threading, derma-planing removes the peach fuzz, but instead of using string to get rid of all the peach fuzz, derma-planing requires using a sterile surgical blade and is gently scraped across different sections of the face in feathery light strokes. This motion helps get rid of excess dead skin cells in addition to the vellus hairs.

Pros

This treatment is painless, skin will feel smooth, softer and glowing. Hair does not grow back thicker by derma-planing, and all the hair including the shortest hairs are removed. Results will last 2-4 weeks depending on the client.

Cons

Derma-planing is a more aggressive form of exfoliating then threading, it’s possible to see some redness and inflammation depending on your skin.  Oil can be applied for more sensitive skin to lesson the exfoliation. Stronger thicker hairs can feel prickly a few days after as the hairs are being cut not pulled out, hair will grow back quicker then threading,
